Alocasia macrorrhizos "Borneo Giant"

The image above shows how our specimen A. macrorrhizos "Borneo Giant" has grown as of summer 2007. Note the multiple heavy trunks that have developed over the few years we have been growing this plant. Alocasia macrorrhizos "Borneo Giant" grows best during the warm summer months, when the night temperatures are in the mid 70s F and day temperatures are in the mid 80s F, and humidity is high.

Alocasia Borneo Giant leaf

Above you can see the characteristic look of the leaf of the Borneo Giant. The distinctive ripples between the main veins are not seen on other varieties of A. macrorrhizos and I consider them to be one of the defining characteristics of the plant. Even my other very large A. macrorrhizos type, the Big Mac, does not show this unique feature to the degree shown here.
