The Real Work.

While growing the plants is quite enjoyable, the work must come first. Here we are processing berries produced from hybridization of Philodendron (orange berries) and Anthurium (purple berries). We've tried different methods, but doing it by hand seems to be the only reliable method of cleaning the seeds in preparation for planting out.

What is required here is to separate the seed from the fleshy berry, clean the seed of berry residue, and then plant them out in trays. We remove the individual seeds from the berries, wipe them off on paper napkins or paper towels, and then soak them in distilled water for a few hours. Then they are ready for planting.
