Philodendron corcovadense x P. selloum
The plant pictured is but one of a number of variations that came out of this cross. Some of them acquired the shiny leaf characteristic of P. corcovadense, while others did not, and still others had leaves of thicker substance, but without the shine.
This particular one has been naturalized on our property. Another selection of this one has been used as the pollen parent in a cross with our Philodendron "dwarf speciosum"; the results of that cross are in 4" pots and have yet to show their distinguishing characteristics.
Once again, part of the lure of hybridization is the surprise of unexpected progeny.
