Alocasia x saridora
One of our 2005 productions, the Alocasia x saridora is, as you can see, a good blend of the parents, A. odora and A. 'Sarian'. The seedlings showed individual variation in the lightness of the main leaf veins, but all of them showed some mottling or coloration in the petioles. They do seem to have longish petioles overall, and F2 work should bring the petiole length down as well as provide more defined light coloration in the main leaf veins.
So far, these plants have proven themselves much more durable than the A. 'Sarian' in typical growing conditions, which is already an improvement over the A. 'Sarian'.
These have yet to bloom so we do not know if they will yield fertile pollen.
